Nottingham Forest 2-2 Luton Town: Luton Stages late comeback to secure draw against Nottingham Forest
Posted : 21 October 2023
Elijah Adebayo's late heroics helped Luton stage an impressive comeback against Nottingham Forest, securing a confidence-boosting draw. Forest had taken a 2-0 lead, with Chris Wood scoring both goals.
However, Luton's stunning fightback began in the 83rd minute when Chiedozie Ogbene capitalized on a loose ball from a free-kick. Then, in added time, substitute Adebayo chested a long ball and calmly slotted it past the keeper to level the game.
The result extends Nottingham Forest's winless streak to five games, which includes four draws. Luton, on the other hand, earned a valuable fifth point of the season. Forest's home record had been impressive, with only two losses in their previous 18 Premier League games and none in the last six.
Chris Wood had initially put Forest in front with an early second-half goal and added a second with a header, seemingly securing victory. However, Luton's resilience and Forest's defensive lapses allowed for a remarkable late turnaround, giving both teams a share of the points.
