Noni Madueke's reaction to Mauricio Pochettino's exit from Chelsea

Posted : 22 May 2024

Super Eagles-eligible forward Noni Madueke has expressed his thoughts on the departure of Mauricio Pochettino from his role as head coach of Chelsea.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening via their official website, the Premier League giants announced the mutual agreement to part ways with the Argentine tactician.

Pochettino took over as the Blues' coach last summer, succeeding Graham Potter, with high expectations to develop the club's young talent and elevate them to European prominence.

Despite these aspirations, the 52-year-old guided the West London club to a 6th place finish in the Premier League, a Carabao Cup final loss to an injury-plagued Liverpool, and a FA Cup semifinal exit.

Dissatisfaction with on-field performance coupled with reported disagreements between Pochettino and Chelsea's hierarchy regarding club policy led to the decision to end their collaboration.

Among those reacting to the departure of the four-time Premier League Manager of the Month is Noni Madueke, who took to social media to express his gratitude.

On his Instagram account, Madueke posted a picture of himself alongside the Argentine coach with the caption: "Thank You."

During Pochettino's tenure, the 22-year-old featured 34 times across all competitions, contributing eight goals and three assists to the team.
