To build on last season's successes, which received widespread praise for the marked improvement in the quality of the Nigerian National League (NNL), plans have been finalized to host a pre-season seminar for NNL coaches and media officers.
According to George Aluo, Chairman of the Nigerian National League Board, "We are excited to organize a pre-season seminar for our coaches and media officers to prepare them for the 2024/2025 season.
"The NNL is fully committed to building on last season’s achievements, which led to a higher standard of play, good conduct from players and officials, and fair officiating. We cannot settle for anything less going forward."
He expressed gratitude to Valuejet Airlines for supporting the NNL in improving the league.
"We have set a standard that we will continue to improve upon. The commendations we received last season were due to the cooperation of all stakeholders. The league will keep getting better when everyone contributes their part to the game. We’re not there yet, but we have instilled a level of trust, sanity, and integrity in our league. This is the beginning of better days ahead. We are grateful to Valuejet Airlines for their support, and we look forward to more collaboration as we prepare for the new season."
He affirmed that "Knowledge is power, and everyone must enhance their knowledge to positively impact the league."
The pre-season seminar will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, from October 28th to 31st, 2024.
Renowned coaches and experts, such as former Super Eagles assistant coach Fatai Amoo, Alphonsus Dike, Thiago Conde, and media practitioners Tony Ubani, John Joshua Akanji, and Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu, among others, are expected to guide coaches and media officers in enhancing their skills to raise the league’s standard.
