NNL sets Pre competition medical tests for players, officials

Posted : 03 October 2023
The forty (40) clubs billed to participate in the 2023/2024 season of the Nigeria National League are expected to conduct three(3) compulsory pre competition medical tests for their players and officials ahead of the Saturday, Oct. 28 Kick off date.

The clubs are to run:

1. Pre competition Medical Assessment (PCMA) test to ensure their players and officials are safe to participate in any form of physical activity.

2. An electrocardiogram (ECG) test diagnosing the heart's conditions and electrical activity.

3. A Covid-19 test for covid related cases.

These medical tests are prerequisites to obtain clean medical clearance for the players and officials to feature in the league.

The Chief Operating Officer of the league, Emmanuel Adesanya said the clubs are to submit an official report which must be endorsed by qualified medical Doctors or from notable medical centers.

"We attach huge importance to the life of each player and official, that is why the medical  conditions must be adhered to.

"Clubs who fail to comply risk disqualification from the league even though the fixtures have been drawn.

"We urge all the clubs to do this needful and simple task before our kick off, they all have  been notified on the very importance of this development,'' Adesanya enthused.
