The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Danlami Alanana as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Alanana replaces Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman, who has been redeployed to the Inter-Club Competitions department at the NFF.
Alanana brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the first Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).
He has also held various positions within the NFF, including Secretary of the Referees Committee, the Players and Status Arbitration Committee, and the Match Commissioners Appointment Committee.
Before his appointment as COO, Alanana served as Head of the Inter-Clubs Department. The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Part of Alanana’s experience includes working with the late Chief Oyuki Obaseki, Charles Ojugbana, Alhassan Yakmut, and Saliu Abubakar to shape the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The NNL resumed its second stanza on Friday, with other matches scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday across the country.
