Ikorodu City Head Coach, Bright Ozegbagbei, said the team will fight for the NPFL ticket and try to progress to the latter stages of the FA Cup.
Ikorodu City successfully defended their Lagos State Federation Cup title following a 2-0 victory over Inter Lagos FC at Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
With a goal each in the first half, Ikorodu City maintained their brilliant form this season across all competitions.
Harisson Uzondu Austin’s 27th-minute header gave Ikorodu the lead before Oyedokun Tosin extended the lead in the 58th minute by scoring from the penalty spot.
Ikorodu City were rewarded with a prize money of N500,000 while Inter Lagos received N300,000.
Meanwhile, Ozegbagbei said that the team will keep working hard towards achieving its goals for the season.
"It's a work in progress. The boys did what they needed to do. You just have to keep working hard to make sure you are still on track and keep focused.
``Things are moving up well with the club and the boys are performing.
"Our expectations this season are to secure the promotional ticket for the playoffs and hopefully obtain the ticket for the NPFL.
``We will keep working and keeping hope alive," he said.
