Nnadi loves Man Utd, despite Dynamo links

Posted : 04 July 2023
Tochukwu Nnadi, the talented midfielder representing the Flying Eagles in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, recently opened up about his deep-rooted admiration for the illustrious English club, Manchester United, even as rumors swirl regarding potential interest from Dynamo Moscow in the Russian Premier League.

Nnadi, who currently plies his trade at Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria, showcased his exceptional skills and stood out among his peers under the guidance of coach Ladan Bosso during the tournament in Argentina, exhibiting his prowess in all five matches, three of which he started.

In an exclusive interview, Nnadi revealed that his love for Manchester United stems from his desire to emulate the playing style of iconic figures such as Michael Carrick and Cristiano Ronaldo, both of whom left an indelible mark on the footballing world.

As he strives to forge his own path in the sport, Nnadi aspires to be recognized as a formidable midfielder akin to the likes of Sofyan Amrabat and Jude Bellingham, combining his calmness on the ball with relentless aggression off it.

He believes that his ability to read the game and his astute positioning are his greatest assets, instilling confidence that he will eventually become a prominent figure in the footballing community.

Speaking about his qualities and strengths, Nnadi admitted that he prefers short combinations over long-range passes, as he strives for precision and avoids unnecessary mistakes that could compromise the team's performance.

It is worth noting that Nnadi joins the ranks of Odion Ighalo as one of the few Nigerian-born players to have the privilege of representing Manchester United, albeit Ighalo's stint being a loan spell from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, which took place during the tenure of the legendary Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Currently, Nnadi has resumed pre-season training with Botev Plovdiv and showcased his skills during the second half of the team's friendly match against Aris, contributing to their 1-0 victory on Sunday, July 2.
