Nigeria National League One (NLO) and the Abakaliki-based side, Greatness Sporting Club, have unveiled Coach Felix Nwosu, popularly known as ‘Abacha,’ as their new coach ahead of the new season.
The Ebonyi State-based club, which will resume training this week following a short break after participating in some grassroots sports competitions last season.
Coach Felix Nwosu Abacha expressed his delight after being unveiled at the club’s house in Abakaliki.
“I am delighted to be here in Abakaliki with Greatness Sporting Club. I'm glad that the management believes in me, and together with the players, we want to make them happy and achieve our objectives.”
Felix Nwosu urged the fans to expect an improved performance from the team, and the management has lined up tune-up games against top-quality sides.
Greatness Sporting Club CEO, Mr. Francis Sunday Ikechi, revealed that the decision to appoint Coach Felix Abacha Nwosu was an easy one because he is a highly-rated coach and one of the most sought-after coaches in Nigerian football.
“Abacha is a good coach, and he was recommended by top players in the football industry as a result of the impressive job he did with some teams he worked with previously.”
“We want to change the pattern of the team, and he is the right person to take us forward. We want to challenge for the competitions we are playing and also bring in young players to move the club forward.”
The Enugwu Ukwu born tactician will work alongside former Ebonyi United players Onyeka Okoro, who will serve as the club’s Team Manager, and Chukwudi Nwankwo, who will serve as the assistant coach of the team.
The unveiling of the coach was done in the presence of Ebonyi State FA, Ebonyi State Referee council, and Sports Council representatives.
