Nigerians abroad: Ighalo outperforms Ronaldo, Osimhen is on par with Martins, Kayode scores, and Ajayi is dependable

Posted : 20 April 2023
Nigerian footballers continue to excel around the world as they participate in various leagues and tournaments.

Napoli lost 1-2 on the road to AC Milan, hence they were eliminated before reaching the UEFA Champions League semifinals despite a goal by Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, however, tied Obafemi Martins' record for the most goals scored by a Nigerian player in a single Champions League season with his fifth goal this season.

Semi Ajayi's outstanding performance at the center of West Brom's defense in the Championship helped them keep a clean sheet in their 2-1 victory over Blackpool.

Bolton Wanderers and Burton Albion drew 1-1 in League One, with Victor Adeboyejo scoring his third goal of the season for Bolton.

Ebuka Onah, 21, scored the game's lone goal as Riteirai defeated Suduva 1-0 in a gameweek 9 A Lyga matchup in Lithuania.

Cristiano Ronaldo's prospects of winning the league championship in his first season in Saudi Arabia were diminished by Odion Ighalo's two penalty kicks that gave Al Hilal a 2-0 victory against Al Nassr in the Saudi Arabia Pro League.

Ighalo now has 18 league goals this year, compared to Ronaldo's 11 league goals.

Olanrewaju Kayode scored his second goal in as many games for Ümraniyespor in the Turkish Super League, but it wasn't enough to prevent a 4-2 loss at Fatih Karagümrük.
