Nigerians abroad: Ejuke, Yusuf, Ilenikhena trouble Barcelona; Ndidi bags assists; Chukwueze scores

Here are some standout performances from Nigerian footballers abroad on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.


In the English Championship, Joe Aribo featured for Southampton in a 1-1 draw against Coventry City, with Samuel Edozie's equalizer securing the Saints a point.


Wilfred Ndidi continued his impressive form, providing an assist in Leicester City's 3-2 victory over Millwall.

 


Jamilu Collins performed well, but Cardiff City suffered a 0-1 home defeat to Birmingham City.


In Greece’s Super League 2, Abiola Adedeji scored from the penalty spot as Ionikos defeated Egaleo 5-1.


In the Swiss Super League, Ifeanyi Matthew and Zürich faced a 1-2 defeat away to Winterthur.


AC Milan won 2-1 against Newcastle United, with Samuel Chukwueze's late goal. Despite the victory, Milan couldn't advance in Group F, with Borussia Dortmund and PSG claiming knockout spots.


Karim Adeyemi scored for Dortmund in a 1-1 draw with PSG, securing the group's top spot.


Red Star Belgrade, featuring Peter Olayinka, exited Europe after a 3-2 loss to Manchester City in Group G.


Royal Antwerp made history with a 3-2 victory over Barcelona, and George Ilenikhena scored a late winner after coming off the bench.


Chidera Ejuke shone for Antwerp, showcasing excellent dribbling skills, while Alhassan Yusuf assisted Antwerp’s second goal.
