Nigerian talents shine globally: Ibrahim leads Montreal, Dauda, Tella, Ajibade impress

On Sunday, March 10th, Nigerian players showcased their talent in various international football matches.


In the Superliga, Christian Mba scored his fourth goal for Partizani Tirana in a dominant 4-0 away win against Erzeni Shijak.


In the MLS, Sunusi Ibrahim's first goal of 2024 secured a thrilling 3-2 victory for Montreal over Inter Miami. Ibrahim, coming off the bench, netted the decisive goal in the 78th minute.


In the Czech Liga, Kenneth Ikugar assisted Zlín’s 90th-minute equalizer in a 2-2 draw against České Budějovice. Igoh Ogbu showcased solid defensive performance for Slavia Prague in their 4-0 victory over Teplice.


In the Premier League, Nottingham Forest suffered a 1-0 defeat at Brighton with Taiwo Awoniyi as a second-half substitute. Semi Ajayi contributed to West Bromwich Albion's convincing 4-1 away win at Huddersfield Town.


In Spain, Rasheedat Ajibade provided the assist in Atletico Madrid's 1-0 victory against Sporting de Huelva. Cedric Omoigui opened the scoring for Ibiza, but they drew 2-2 with Algeciras.


In Serie A, Samuel Chukwueze played the final 30 minutes in AC Milan’s 1-0 win over Empoli. Ademola Lookman featured in Atalanta's thrilling 2-2 draw at Juventus.


Nathan Tella scored his fifth league goal for Bayer Leverkusen in a 2-0 Bundesliga win over Wolfsburg. Kevin Akpoguma and Hoffenheim suffered a 3-1 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt.

In the Super League 2, Abiola Dauda's double inspired Ionikos to a 2-1 win against Egaleo.


In the I-League, Rilwan Hassan assisted the only goal, leading Sreenidi Deccan to a 1-0 away win against Delhi FC.


In the MLS, Tani Oluwaseyi provided the assist for Minnesota United’s 95th-minute winning goal in their exciting 3-2 victory at Orlando City.
