Nigerian striker Chinaza Uchendu has signed with FC Nantes Féminine in France’s Première Ligue on a one-year contract, which will last until June 2025.
The 26-year-old forward joins from Turkish champions Galatasaray SK, where she played a pivotal role in their successful league campaign.
FC Nantes confirmed her signing in an official statement, highlighting Uchendu’s addition as a significant boost to their attack.
Throughout her career, Uchendu has represented several clubs, including SC Braga, Linkoping FC, and Gyeongju KHNP, demonstrating her versatility across multiple leagues.
At the international level, she has played for Nigeria, scoring in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and contributing to Nigeria's 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations win by converting a penalty in the final against South Africa.
Uchendu expressed excitement about joining FC Nantes and returning to France, where she previously played in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup with Nigeria.
During her stint with SC Braga, she was involved in thirteen goals across forty-three matches in all competitions.
