Nigerian defender Abraham Onahi Ogbu recently fulfilled a long-standing dream by signing with Swedish second division club, Östersunds FK, after overcoming injury, rejection, and crowdfunding.
Ogbu's journey began in Makurdi, Benue State, where he honed his skills playing football on the streets before transitioning to professional football.
After suffering a knee injury while playing for Lobi Stars in the Nigerian Professional Football League, Ogbu faced uncertainty and financial challenges.
However, with determination and the support of Tiki Taka Academy, Ogbu underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL, funded by generous donations from well-wishers.
Following his recovery, Ogbu seized an opportunity for a trial with Östersunds FK, where he impressed during medical examinations and secured a two-year contract with the club.
Now, Ogbu looks forward to making the most of his chance with Östersunds FK and fulfilling his potential as a professional footballer.
