Nigerian-born midfielder who plays for Arsenal is back in demand

Posted : 20 April 2023
Osimhen once more showed his value to the squad in the final few minutes of the game by bringing the score back, but it was not enough to advance Napoli to the Semifinals.

After then, in the post-game press conference, Spalletti praised Milan for seizing their chances to win.

Tim Akinola, a Nigerian-born central midfielder who is owned by Arsenal, was selected for the first time since March 11, 2023, as Chesterfield hammered Torquay United 5-1 on Tuesday night at the Technique Stadium in Derbyshire.

The 2022 Olympic Eagles invitee missed seven straight matchday squads, although it had nothing to do with his health prior to Torquay United's visit.

Akinola was deemed surplus to needs by Chesterfield manager Danny Webb, who prioritized other midfielders over the Nigerian.

Akinola made his return to the Spireites' lineup 38 days after his last game for the team, and Web did so by substituting him for Darren Oldaker in the 67th minute.

With thirteen minutes remaining, Torquay United's Brett McGavin scored a consolation goal.

On the final day of the summer transfer window, Akinola left Arsenal for his second loan assignment and signed with Chesterfield for the remainder of the season.

He moved to the fifth-tier team despite the fact that his ability is unquestionably beyond National League standards in order to get back into match shape after sustaining a significant ankle injury while on loan at Scottish Premiership team Dundee United in the second half of the 2021–2022 season.
