Super Eagles Coach Peseiro wins first international friendly match after two years

The Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro, earned his first friendly match win on Monday with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over a 10-man Mozambique in Portugal.
Peseiro was appointed as the Eagles' head coach in 2022 following the sacking of Genort Rohr. However, he had failed to secure a win in six consecutive friendly matches, playing against Portugal, Costa Rica, Algeria, Ecuador, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia.
In the last international friendly match against Saudi Arabia, the Super Eagles surrendered a 2-1 lead to end in a 2-2 draw in a match played in Portimao, Portugal. A goalkeeping error was responsible for the unfortunate draw against the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia.
The Mozambicans scored the first goal due to another goalkeeping error from Francis Uzoho, who spilled the ball once again in the 6th minute. Terem Moffi leveled the score in the 16th minute.
A midfielder from Brentford scored Nigeria's second goal in the 27th minute, and Moses Simon scored the third goal from the penalty spot with the last kick of the first half.
Mozambique was reduced to 10 men later in the match, but this didn't deter them as they approached the second half strongly and managed to reduce the deficit to 3-2 through Bangal.
All the efforts from both sides to add to their tally proved futile as the game ended 3-2 in favor of Nigeria.
