Nigeria Golden Eaglets set eyes on winning U-17 AFCON, says Eke

Golden Eaglets attacker Light Eke has declared their readiness to compete for honour in the upcoming 2023 U17 African Cup of Nations in Algeria.

The Nigeria's representative at the cadet AFCON arrived in Algeria on Sunday after which they were subjected to necessary documentation including the compulsory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Eke in an interview confirmed the team's readiness while speaking on the NFF TV Youtube channel where he made it clear their intention to qualify for the World Cup.

 “Based on our preparation I know that we are very ready for this tournament and in our group, we have opponents that we know and are very good.

``But like I said based on our preparation we came here knowing that we are going to win the trophy and also qualify for the World Cup.

“So all we are going to do is play according to the coach's instructions and give our best throughout the tournament", he stressed.

The semi-finalists in Algeria will represent the continent in the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup later in the year.
