Niger Tornadoes get first away points of the 2023/2024 NPFL

Nigeria Tornadoes secured their first-ever away win on Sunday as the match against Kwara United at Ilorin Township Stadium ended in a stalemate.


The Ikon Allah Boys, under acting Technical Adviser Majin Mohammed, showed resilience to earn a valuable away point at the Kwara Sports Complex in Ilorin against hosts Kwara United.


The hosts started the game strongly with penetrative passes into the Tornadoes' defensive line during the early stages. However, the wounded Ikon Allah Boys contained all pressures from the home team and proved difficult to break.


The Tornadoes' technical bench deployed a formidable 4-2-3-1 formation to curtail all advances from the home team, a strategy that worked well for the visitors.


The hosts intensified their efforts, particularly in the second half, as time ticked away. Still, they were met by a determined Tornadoes side and their ultra-defensive mechanism, securing a point from the game.


Joshua Enaholo played a crucial role, making numerous saves in his remarkable and unquestionably man-of-the-match performance, denying the hosts from taking all three points.
