The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the second leg of the 2nd Round of the 2024 Olympics qualifying match between the Super Falcons and Ethiopia will be free of charge to encourage Nigerians to come to the stadium and provide maximum support to the women's national team.
This information was revealed by the General Secretary of the federation, Sanusi Mohammed.
He stated, "At a time when we have a new government that loves and supports sports, particularly football, we have no option but to do everything to ensure that the Super Falcons qualify for the next Olympic Games in Paris, France.
"We all understand the importance of fans cheering for the home team; it significantly boosts the team's morale and helps in defeating the opponents.
"This is one of the reasons the federation decided to open the gates for fans from all walks of life to come and support them in their quest for victory against Ethiopia on Tuesday.
"We, therefore, appeal to Nigerians, especially those living in Abuja and its surroundings, to come and support the Super Falcons to victory at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja."
The Super Falcons, who are nine-time African champions, played to a 1-1 draw in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the first leg of the encounter. The second leg is scheduled for October 31.
The Super Falcons have missed the last three editions of the Olympic Games, and following their outstanding performance at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, all efforts will be made to secure the Olympic Games ticket this time.
