NFF President declares support for futsal, beach soccer

The NFF, under the leadership of Ibrahim Musa Gusau, aims to revitalize futsal and beach soccer in Nigeria, offering support and encouragement to these sports. During a meeting with Futsal Nigeria, a partner in promoting futsal in Nigeria, Gusau expressed the desire to see these sports flourish once again. He highlighted Nigeria's past participation in Futsal World Cup qualifiers and success in beach soccer on the continent and globally before a temporary hiatus. Now, with a more developed local league and passionate clubs, Gusau believes it's time to rekindle these sports.
He also mentioned FIFA's consideration of organizing a Futsal World Cup for women, emphasizing Nigeria's potential in both men's and women's futsal. Abubakar Barde, Secretary of the NFF Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee, expressed the committee's commitment to rejuvenating these sports in the country. Shamsudeen Tijani Yusuf, Coordinator of Futsal Nigeria, stressed the importance of fostering interest in 5-A-Side football, given its versatility from recreational to competitive levels. Tijani Yusuf, along with other representatives from Futsal Nigeria, presented T-Shirts and brochures to the NFF President and General Secretary.
The event was attended by various NFF officials, including 1st Vice President Felix Anyansi-Agwu, Executive Committee member Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, Director of Finance and Admin Babatunde Akinsanya, Director of Communications Ademola Olajire, and Head of Marketing and Sponsorship Alizor Chuks.
