The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expelled two referees, Temitope Fadojuto and Peter Emmanuel Edeoro, from the league due to their involvement in match trading and impersonation.
Temitope Fadojuto impersonated another official, Peter Emmanuel Edeoro, in a rescheduled Matchday 3 fixture between Inter Lagos FC and Crown FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
According to the NFF Refereeing Development Committee, Peter Emmanuel Edeoro was originally appointed as Assistant Referee 2 for the match, but Temitope Fadojuto impersonated him and took his place.
This act of impersonation is a serious offense and has led to the expulsion of both referees from the league.
The NFF has taken this action to uphold the integrity of the game and prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
The federation has also warned other officials against engaging in such unprofessional conduct, stating that it will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against anyone found guilty of match trading or impersonation.
