Newcastle paid €80m for Tonali, Osimhen worth €200m

Italian football expert Enrico Varriale has recently offered his analysis on the potential transfer fee for Victor Osimhen, suggesting that an offer of €150 million would not be an unreasonable figure in the current market. 

Varriale's assessment comes in the wake of AC Milan's substantial €70 million windfall from the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United, which, when accounting for bonuses, reached €80 million, making Tonali their joint most expensive signing alongside Alexander Isak.

While Tonali, a highly regarded deep-lying playmaker and technically gifted box-to-box midfielder in Italy, may have modest statistics of two goals and seven assists in Serie A last season, Osimhen's remarkable accomplishments overshadow them. 

The Nigerian striker's impressive tally of 26 league goals not only earned him the distinction of being Serie A's top scorer but also played a vital role in guiding Napoli to their first Scudetto triumph in 33 years.

According to Varriale, Osimhen's exceptional abilities place him in a league comparable only to Manchester City's Erling Haaland, thus justifying the notion of a €150 million transfer fee in the current inflated market. 

Moreover, Varriale acknowledges Napoli's financial stability under the resilient leadership of chairman De Laurentiis, implying their ability to resist any offers for their star striker.

In fact, Varriale even suggests that an evaluation of €200 million might be a more appropriate valuation for Osimhen, although he concedes that such figures may appear excessive, attributing them to the prevailing madness observed in the contemporary football transfer market. 

By presenting his insights, Varriale adds fuel to the ongoing discussion surrounding Osimhen's potential market value and the growing interest from clubs eager to secure his services.
