Nasarawa Utd squad returns to base after weeklong pre-season tour in Abuja

The Solid Miners, as Nasarawa United FC are nicknamed, have returned to their base in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, after eight days of pre-season activities in Abuja in preparation for the 2023/24 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
Recall that the Solid Miners were relegated from the elite league in the last season.
While in Abuja, the team played a total of nine friendly matches with fellow NNL sides and non-league teams at various venues.
Out of the nine games played, United won six, drew three, and lost none. The team scored fourteen goals while conceding just two, the fewest they have conceded in their recent pre-season activities.

The Technical Adviser of the Club, Usman Adams, disclosed that he and his team were ready for the new football league season.
According to him, the task of selecting the best players for the club was challenging as every invited talent proved their mettle.
He also noted that the club could only work with a specific number of players to help it return to the elite domestic football league as quickly as possible.
The coach added that the team would engage in another round of rigorous training upon their return to Lafia to keep them in the best shape for the upcoming challenges.
He expressed appreciation to the club's supporters and fans for standing by them, while assuring them that they would repay their trust.
