The Coach of Nasarawa United FC, Adams Usman, is now over the moon as his side qualifies to play in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 6, potentially securing promotion to the elite Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
After overseeing his side secure a much-needed 1-1 stalemate against Zamfara United FC, Usman also thanked the state government for its support.
"I am overwhelmed because the people of Nasarawa State have always stood by us, especially the Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, his Deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the Supporters' Club, and the good people of the State.
"I am so happy that at the end of the proceedings, we are able to get a slot to play in the Super Eight Play-off.
"This is a collective victory.
"This victory is dedicated to the Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, and his Deputy for all their support to the team.
"As for our FA Cup round of 64 clash against FC Bako in three days, we are ready for any opposition, regardless of their status.
"We will approach every game as it comes, even though the Federation Cup is full of surprises."
Recall that a 42nd-minute equalizer by Terdoo Shimagande was all Nasarawa United FC needed to pull through to the Super 8 Play-off of the 2023/24 Nigeria National League ahead of Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi.
In the last game of the Conference C fixture, the Solid Miners were trailing Zamfara United in the 40th minute when Namadi Ahmad netted for his side.
The lead lasted for only two minutes as sensational attacker, Terdoo Shimagande, drew the Solid Miners level after dribbling past three defenders.
The energetic striker had his earlier goal disallowed for offside.
The draw has thus guaranteed Nasarawa United a place in the Super Eight Play-off with 33 points from 16 games alongside table-toppers, El-Kanemi Warriors FC, who have one point more.
No date or venue has been fixed for the Super Eight Play-offs.
The Solid Miners will head straight to Kaduna where they will face FC Bako of Kogi State in the round of sixty-four of the 2024 Men's President Federation Cup on Wednesday, 1st May 2024, at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, at 2 pm.
