The Solid Miners suffered a heartbreaking 2-0 defeat against arch-rivals Plateau United in the highly anticipated North Central derby clash on Match Day 13 of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the New Jos International Stadium, Plateau State.
Nasarawa United dominated the first half, controlling possession and creating several scoring opportunities.

Qamal Adegoke came close to opening the scoring in the 2nd minute with a glancing header that went over the crossbar.
Captain King Osanga forced the hosts' goalkeeper, Emeka Nwabulu, into a spectacular save in the 22nd minute, followed by a powerful header from Anas Yusuf, whose effort was palmed away from the target.
The Solid Miners' best chance came in added time before the break when Qamal Adegoke squandered a one-on-one opportunity against Plateau United's goalkeeper, Emeka Nwabulu, whose outstretched arm denied the attacker a goal.
Despite their dominance, the Solid Miners failed to capitalize on their chances and went into half-time level at 0-0.
However, the Peace Boys, as Plateau United are nicknamed, turned the tables in the second half, scoring two goals within 33 minutes.
The home side broke the deadlock in the 50th minute when Ibeh Michael's cross into the dangerous area was turned into the back of the net by Plateau's left back, Shina Kumater, leaving goalkeeper Ameh Godwin with little chance to make a save.
Olawale Doyeni sealed the win for the home side in the 83rd minute, converting a penalty after right-back Habib Yakub fouled David Onovo in the box.
Sunday's Week 13 result means Nasarawa United remain in 20th position on the league table with 12 points, while Plateau United moved up to 14th place with 15 points.
Next for Nasarawa United is a midweek home game against Bendel Insurance of Benin at the Lafia City Stadium, scheduled for 4 p.m.
Coach Kabiru Dogo said, "Nasarawa United deserved more from this game, especially after our first-half performance. We failed to take our chances, and our concentration lapsed in the second half, allowing Plateau United to take advantage. We are still optimistic about turning things around for the better."
