The Lafia-based NWFL side, Nasarawa Amazons, has announced a one-month break for their players after a successful outing in the just-concluded season.

While addressing the players, Chairperson Hajiya Husiana Sulieman Nagogo thanked both the players and the technical staff of the team for their tremendous job in positively representing the state.

She stated that although the team did not achieve its goals, the season would still be regarded as a great one after finishing fourth in the NWFL Super6 playoffs and losing to Remo Stars Ladies in the quarterfinal of the President Federation Cup in Benin, Edo state.

The Chairperson advised the ladies to continue to be disciplined during the break so that when the team resumes, more work could be done to achieve more than in the just-concluded season.

Hajiya Husiana Sulieman conclusively used the opportunity to thank the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, H.E. Engr. Abdullahi Sule, for his tremendous support to the team throughout the season.

While addressing the players, Christopher Danjuma appreciated each and every one of them for putting forth their utmost effort to bring glory to the state. Despite not hitting their targets, it was a great season and a learning curve for some of the girls.

He rounded up by charging the girls to remain disciplined, determined, and dedicated.

The team's coach, Christopher Danjuma, also appreciated the efforts of the players and urged them to keep their heads up despite not winning any trophy. He encouraged them to continue to work hard and stay focused.

The players were also advised to use the break to reflect on their performances and come back stronger and more determined to make the state proud.

The break will take effect immediately and last until August 3rd, 2024, after which the team will resume training for the next 2024/2025 NWFL league season.
