The management of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side Nasarawa Amazons has promised to address concerns about their players' welfare.
The chairman of the club, Hajiya Hussaina Nagogo, made the promise during a meeting with players who resumed training ahead of the new 2024/2025 season.
She addressed concerns about remuneration, promising enhanced salaries soon.
Nagogo demonstrated her commitment to improved living conditions for the players by donating new mattresses, pillows, bags of rice, and a generator set.
She emphasized the need for hard work and determination to achieve better results, believing that many players can improve with dedication.
Regarding qualification for continental football, Nagogo pointed out the necessity for serious preparation ahead of the upcoming NWFL season.
In his reaction, coach Seyi Micheal introduced new players to the chairman, promising a better season, while Captain Josephine Mathias appreciated the management’s efforts toward attaining the CAF Champions League qualification target.
In a show of gratitude, another player, Dominance Odubanjo, thanked Hajiya Nagogo for her support during her treatment and recovery.
Nasarawa Amazons missed out on continental football qualification after finishing fourth in the NWFL Super 6 playoffs earlier this year.
