Napoli set ₦150 billion price for Chelsea-linked Osimhen

Posted : 22 June 2023
Italian Serie A champions Napoli have set a significant price tag of €180 million (₦150 billion) on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, recognizing his immense talent and the pivotal role he played in Napoli's Scudetto victory last season, where he scored an impressive 26 goals.

Osimhen's exceptional performances extended beyond domestic success, as he also contributed five goals in the UEFA Champions League, helping Napoli achieve their historic first-ever quarterfinals finish.

These accomplishments have firmly established him among the elite strikers in Europe, making him a highly sought-after target for top clubs.

Notably, Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and PSG have all expressed serious interest in acquiring the services of the former Lille forward.

However, Napoli is determined to retain Osimhen and has made it clear that they will not let him go easily.

Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already revealed their intention to extend Osimhen's contract for an additional two years, further fortifying their stance.

Initially, rumors suggested that Napoli would only entertain offers starting from €150 million, but the latest reports from Transfer News Live indicate that the club has now raised their asking price to €180 million.

Given the current inflated nature of the transfer market and the financial capabilities of the interested clubs, Napoli may be justified in holding out for such a substantial sum.

The competition for Osimhen's signature remains fierce, but Napoli's firm stance and the player's potential contract extension create further hurdles for potential suitors.

Only time will tell if any club is willing to meet Napoli's valuation and secure the services of this highly talented striker.
