Following his impressive performance in Nigeria's victory over Sierra Leone, securing their qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has expressed his intention to offer Victor Osimhen a two-year contract extension upon his return to Naples.
Osimhen, who currently finds himself in Lagos, played a crucial role in Nigeria's triumph, netting two goals and bringing his season tally to seven goals in the AFCON qualifiers and an impressive total of 38 goals across all competitions for both club and country.
Notably, his contributions were instrumental in Napoli's success this season, with the talented 24-year-old striker scoring 31 goals, 26 of which were in the Italian Serie A, helping the club secure their first league title in 33 years.
Osimhen's exceptional form has garnered attention from top clubs globally, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid, making him one of the most valuable players in Serie A's history.
However, Napoli has shown reluctance to part ways with their prized striker unless a staggering offer of €150 million is presented.
During the unveiling of Napoli's new coach, Rudi Garcia, President Aurelio De Laurentiis reaffirmed his priority of extending Osimhen's contract, making it clear that only an extraordinary offer would entice the club to consider selling the Nigerian sensation.
