Naija Super 8: Katsina United Coach talks tough

The chairman of Katsina United, Suraj Umar Baba, has said his team will go all out for victory against Kano Pillars in the North West zone derby at the ongoing Naija Super 8 playoff in Eket, Akwa Ibom state.

The final day of the playoff will see the two Nigeria National League sides playing the first game before the South-South derby between Rivers United and newly crowned Federation Cup champion, Bendel Insurance.

Umar Baba said the game will reignite the two sides in the Nigeria Premier Football League while it will be an avenue to get ready for the NNL playoff next month. “I know it is not going to be easy, but the target is to get a win and progress to the tournament proper,” he said.

“We have seen the other games and we want to join the likes of Enyimba and others that have already qualified. 

“This will be like the normal games we have played in the past and getting a win will give us a psycological edge ahead of the NNL playoff, as our aim is to return to the NPFL.”
