Moses Simon wins Nantes Player of the Month award

French Ligue 1 club Nantes has named Nigerian forward Moses Simon as their Player of the Month for August, recognizing his exceptional performances at the start of the 2023/24 season. 


Simon has been a standout player for Nantes, featuring in all their matches so far this season. His contributions on the pitch have been crucial for the Canaries as they seek to improve their standing in Ligue 1.


In the season opener, Simon struggled to make a significant impact, but he quickly bounced back in the following match against Auxerre, where he scored the opening goal, leading Nantes to a 2-0 victory. 


Simon continued his fine form in their third game against Montpellier, scoring another goal in a 3-1 triumph. His performances earned him the Player of the Month accolade for August, solidifying his importance to the team.


Before their match against Reims, Simon was presented with the award. Despite providing an assist in that game, Nantes suffered a 2-1 defeat, marking their first loss of the season.


For the past three seasons, Simon has been a vital player for Nantes, often delivering key performances early in the campaign. However, last season, his form dipped after a promising start.


This season, Simon has begun strongly once again, and Nantes will be hoping he maintains his momentum to help the team achieve a higher finish, potentially securing a spot in continental competitions.
