Moses Simon: Serie A club targets Super Eagles forward

Moses Simon, the Super Eagles forward, has emerged as a potential transfer target for Serie A club AS Roma. The FC Nantes winger has reportedly attracted interest from the Italian side as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the summer transfer window.  


The 29-year-old joined Nantes from Levante five years ago and has since become a key player for the French club. Over the years, he has featured in 191 matches, netting 35 goals and providing 38 assists, making significant contributions to the team's success.  


Despite having a year remaining on his contract, Simon’s future at Nantes remains uncertain. The upcoming season could be his last with the club, as he may seek a new challenge elsewhere.  


Roma are not the only club monitoring Simon, as several Ligue 1 teams, including OGC Nice and Olympique Marseille, are also keen on securing his services. This indicates that the Italian side may face strong competition in their pursuit of the Nigerian international.  


In a previous interview with L’Équipe, Simon explained why he had not left for a bigger club despite receiving offers from top European teams. He emphasized that stability and regular playing time were more important to him than just being at a high-profile club without sufficient opportunities on the pitch.  


However, a move to Roma could present a fresh opportunity for Simon, as he might not face the same level of competition for a starting role. His pace, versatility, and experience in European competitions make him a valuable asset for any team looking to strengthen their squad.  


With the summer transfer window approaching, Simon appears open to a move away from France, and Roma could offer him the ideal platform to continue his career at a higher level. The coming months will be crucial in determining his next destination.
