Returnee Super Eagles goalkeeper and Udinese SC of Italy player, Maduka Okoye, has restated the team's resolution to defeat the visiting Cheetahs of Benin Republic in the first round of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Uyo.
Okoye, who is returning to the national team after a brief layoff, stated that the Super Eagles, now coached by Austin Eguavoen, are determined to make the country proud and come out on top in the double-header African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Super Eagles will face the Cheetahs of Benin in Match Day 1 of the qualifiers before traveling to Rwanda to play against the Amavubi in the second game on Tuesday.
Okoye acknowledged the importance of winning both games. "These are very important upcoming games. For sure, they play a significant mental role, but we are preparing for them now, and we are confident that we will secure the win. These qualifiers are crucial, and we need to be at our best and perform at our highest level," he said.
