Bottom team Libya has opted to host Group D leaders Nigeria at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Match Day 4 encounter.
The stadium is located in the city of Benina, approximately 19 kilometers outside the country’s second-largest city, Benghazi.
Previously known as Hugo Chávez Stadium, the facility has a capacity of 10,000 spectators and features an artificial turf.
Both countries will face off in a Match Day 3 encounter at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, Oct. 11, before the return clash in Benina on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
While the match in Uyo will kick off at 5 PM, the battle in Benina will commence at 8 PM Nigerian time.
Libya remains bottom of Group D after two rounds of matches, following a 1-1 draw at home against Rwanda (a game played at the Tripoli International Stadium) and a 1-2 loss to the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in Abidjan.
Nigeria tops the group with four points, after a 3-0 thrashing of Benin Republic in Uyo on Match Day 1 and a scoreless draw with Rwanda’s Amavubi in Kigali on Match Day 2.
