Nigeria’s U17 girls, the Flamingos, will remain in camp as they prepare for the final round of the qualification series for this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, where they will face their Algerian counterparts.
The first leg will take place on Saturday, 19th April, at the Remo Stars’ Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, with both teams set to clash in the second leg in Algeria a week later.
The 2022 World Cup bronze medalists, Nigeria, defeated South Africa’s Bantwana 3-1 in Pretoria, and followed this with a 2-0 win in Ikenne at the weekend, securing a 5-1 aggregate victory. This result sent the visitors home to try their luck again next year, while Nigeria advanced to the final round.
On the other hand, Algeria lost 1-2 to Botswana in Gaborone in the first leg, but responded with a 4-0 victory in the return leg at home, earning the right to face Nigeria for a ticket to this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
Other final round fixtures:
