Montpellier star Adams looks ahead to Ligue 1 match against Super Eagles striker
Posted : 09 November 2023
Montpellier striker Akor Jerome Adams expressed his admiration for OGC Nice forward Terem Moffi.
In their first encounter on Friday, Montpellier will host Nice in a Ligue 1 clash.
Moffi, Nigeria's primary striker in Ligue 1 since joining from Belgium in 2020, has 43 goals in 114 games and earned the Revelation of the Season title in his debut year in France.
Adams, eyeing a similar accolade, has scored seven goals in ten games, surpassing Moffi by four, but trailing PSG's Kylian Mbappe by three.
Despite Moffi's team-leading position in Ligue 1, Nice, Montpellier, currently 13th, could rise to 7th with a victory.
With a spot in the Super Eagles squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at stake, Adams looks forward to facing and outshining Moffi.
Expressing his excitement, Akor stated, “It’s going to be a great game, and I know many fans back in Nigeria will be tuned in to watch. Moffi has done very well in Ligue 1, and he’s one of the top strikers here now. What he has achieved in France has inspired players like me coming behind. We (Montpellier) need to secure a victory to climb up the table. We now have to pick ourselves up after the loss at Parc des Princes to fight for our rightful place.”
OGC Nice boasts four consecutive victories, while Montpellier suffered a 3-0 defeat against PSG last weekend.
