Months after Todd Boehly spent £600 million on team, Chelsea need to "rebuild" - Frank Lampard

Despite spending over £600 million ($741 million) over the previous two transfer windows, Frank Lampard acknowledges that Chelsea has to "rebuild."
Big money has been invested in new faces since the Todd Boehly-led group took control of Stamford Bridge and is now in charge of west London. A £106 million ($131 million) purchase for World Cup-winning midfielder Enzo Fernandez broke the British transfer record.
Chelsea, who will likely finish in the bottom half of the Premier League this season, have seen little return on that investment, and interim manager Lampard admits that more money will be needed to mend a dysfunctional team.
“It's a bad year for the club. The important thing is you get to the bottom of how it improves. It needs a rebuild, the club will move on in the summer in terms of the squad. Things need to improve to get to the level.” Lampard said.
Given that Mauricio Pochettino appears to be in position to take over as Chelsea's manager this summer, Lampard won't be there to oversee the remaking of the team, and the former England international feels he has little advise to provide to his replacement.
