‘Mohamed Salah will be seen as a legend’ – Virgil van Dijk believes the 183-goal Liverpool player will receive the respect he deserves

With 183 goals for the Reds, the Egyptian attacker has established himself as a fan favorite at Anfield and has now tied Robbie Fowler for second place on the club's all-time scoring list.

Although he has won several major honors while playing for Merseyside, including the Premier League and Champions League crowns, three Golden Boots, and two PFA Player of the Year awards, he is not often included when people are talking about the world's top players.

Van Dijk, a Dutch defender who is inspired by what a brilliant club teammate has accomplished, anticipates that will alter with time.

The Liverpool centre-half has said of Salah: “Most of the players here have contributed to winning big trophies. Mo will definitely be seen as a legend. He’s such an important player.

At a later stage, I think the things he’s done will be appreciated a lot more by the outside world. For us, we appreciate everything he does day in, day
out. We see all the hard work that he puts in. He just has to keep it going.”

Salah has already surpassed Steven Gerrard's total of goals for the Reds in European play and established a new Premier League scoring record for Liverpool.
