Messi's season has been good, Galtier says people expects more

Although he appeared to be making fun of the superstar, Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has defended Lionel Messi's efforts this season.
Prior to his projected summer departure, the Argentine has contributed 20 goals and 20 assists across all competitions in what appears to be his greatest season at Parc des Princes.
His performances have however been questioned, and since the club suspended him after an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia, he has come under fire from the club's vocal ultras.
“Leo has been irreproachable throughout the season in his effort in training. Leo is football. It’s true. I have seen it every day in training, I’ve also seen it in our matches," the coach said.
"This year, he has great statistics. It is already much, much better than last season. I think Leo has had a very good season with PSG, but people still expect a lot more from him."
Galtier defended Messi but acknowledged that fans demand more from a player of his calibre while speaking ahead of PSG's last match of the season against Strasbourg.
