Messi Chose Family Over Fortune, Rejects €1.4 Billion Al Hilal Offer for Inter Miami Move

Leo Messi earned no money during his illustrious career and he could afford to choose the destination where he would like to spend his last years as a footballer. As you know, the world champion was in demand in 2023 in Saudi Arabia and Barcelona, but chose to sign with Inter Miami after two years at Paris Saint-Germain.

 

Now, about a year after Messi chose the United States, the president of Al Hilal Anmar Al Khayili revealed the crazy offer he rejected: "We contacted Leo when the Paris contract ended and presented him with an offer of 1.4 billion euros, but he refused because his family wanted to live in America. It was surprising that he was able to refuse such a tempting and great offer, but he did not hesitate because his family is more important to him than money."

 

In four days, Argentina will begin the defense of its title as South American champion with a match against Canada in the Copa America (the tournament will be broadcast exclusively on the Sport1 channel package).
