Messi attends Inter Miami CF unveiling event in Fort Lauderdale

In preparation for his new MLS team, Inter Miami CF, to host an unveiling event on Sunday, Lionel Messi arrived in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday.
 
During the club's announcement that the welcoming ceremony, dubbed "The Unveil," which would begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the team's DRV PNK Stadium, will take place, Messi appeared with his wife and kids. Season ticket holders for Inter Miami are entitled to free entry.
 
Messi promised to give his best for the struggling MLS team in an interview with Argentina TV that was made available on Tuesday. After Sunday's 2-2 tie with D.C. United, the club has now gone a club-record 10 games without a win.
 
"My mentality and my head are not going to change and I am going to try, wherever I have to be, give my best for myself and my new club, continue to perform at the highest level," Messi told said
Speaking of his family moving to the United States, he added: "We are happy with the decision we made. Prepared and eager to face the new challenge, the new change."
 
The deal between Inter Miami and the Argentine superstar, who played two seasons with Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain after leaving Barcelona, has not yet been made public.
 
Messi is expected to make his Miami debut against Cruz Azul on July 21 in the Leagues Cup.
 
Former Argentina and Barcelona manager Tata Martino, who took over for the squad in late June, will once more serve as Messi's coach.
