Mbappe Shines as Real Madrid Overcome Las Palmas to Top La Liga

Kylian Mbappe's brilliance inspired Real Madrid to a comeback victory over Las Palmas, propelling them to the top of La Liga. Fabio Silva opened the scoring for the visitors with a close-range strike, but Mbappe equalized from the penalty spot after Sandro Ramirez fouled Rodrygo.

 

Brahim Diaz then capitalized on Lucas Vazquez's pass to give Real the lead before Mbappe’s stunning finish sealed his 12th league goal of the season, putting Carlo Ancelotti's team firmly in control by halftime.

 

Real Madrid's dominance continued in the second half, with Rodrygo converting Fran Garcia's cutback in the 57th minute. Las Palmas' struggles deepened when substitute Benito Ramirez was sent off following a VAR review of his dangerous tackle on Vazquez, which upgraded his initial yellow card to a red.

 

Despite Madrid’s commanding performance, three goals were ruled out for offside, including one that would have completed a hat-trick for Mbappe, while Jude Bellingham missed several scoring opportunities.

 

The victory extends Real Madrid’s lead at the top of the table to two points, ahead of Atletico Madrid, who suffered a defeat against Leganes. With momentum on their side, Madrid now shifts focus to their Champions League clash on Wednesday against Red Bull Salzburg.
