Kylian Mbappé has revealed that he has not yet made a decision regarding whether he will sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) or leave as a free agent at the end of the season. Despite expressing his motivation for the ongoing season and PSG's triumph in the Champions Trophy, the French World Cup winner remains undecided.
Mbappé emphasized the importance of titles for the team and stated that his decision is currently secondary. He highlighted a previous agreement with the president, emphasizing its role in protecting all parties and maintaining the club's serenity for future challenges.
Addressing questions about the possibility of making a late decision, Mbappé referred to his experience in May 2022 when he unexpectedly chose to stay at PSG. He emphasized that if he already knows his decision, waiting would be senseless, reiterating his focus on winning titles.
Mbappé mentioned that discussions about his personal situation within the club are not a significant topic. Last summer, Mbappé reportedly agreed to forgo loyalty bonus payments to protect PSG, a condition of the agreement reached amid transfer threats if he didn't sign a new deal before the current season.
Having joined PSG from Monaco in 2017, Mbappé has become the club's all-time leading scorer and secured five Ligue 1 titles. PSG currently leads the Ligue 1 standings by five points, and they are set to face Real Sociedad in the Champions League round of 16.
Mbappé's uncertain contract situation has long attracted interest, especially from Real Madrid, with the possibility of a significant transfer at the end of the season.
