New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino emphasized the need for immediate results, stating that there is "no patience" in football and his team must deliver right from the start. The 51-year-old former Tottenham boss has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third year at Stamford Bridge.
After a challenging 2022-23 season, which saw Chelsea go through three different managers and finish 12th in the league, Pochettino is determined to turn things around swiftly. He made it clear that there is no time for a lengthy rebuilding process, stating, "We cannot tell the people we need six months to create something."
During his unveiling press conference at Stamford Bridge, Pochettino expressed his satisfaction with his discussions with the club's owners, recognizing their intelligence.
He stressed that he doesn't need to seek additional power as a coach, emphasizing the importance of building trust between himself, the players, and the fans. Pochettino aims to earn the trust of all stakeholders through his decisions and the way he operates.
With an emphasis on immediate success, Pochettino is determined to bring about positive change at Chelsea right from the start of his tenure as manager.
