Marcus Rashford signs five-year contract with Manchester United

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford has reached a verbal agreement for a new long-term contract with the club, according to sources. The proposed five-year deal would extend his stay at Old Trafford until 2028, pending the final stages of negotiations.
Rashford, the talented England forward, is the latest player to commit to United, following Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot, who signed new contracts earlier in the year. The news comes as a boost for manager Erik ten Hag, who is preparing the squad for their preseason tour of the United States.
Having been a crucial part of Ten Hag's team last season, Rashford scored an impressive 30 goals in all competitions. Despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, he has decided to continue his journey with his boyhood club.
While Rashford's contract renewal brings positive news, Ten Hag remains focused on strengthening the forward line with a new No. 9. So far, high-profile targets such as Harry Kane from Tottenham and Victor Osimhen from Napoli have proved costly, leading the club to consider alternatives like Rasmus Hojland from Atalanta and Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, negotiations with Atalanta have faced challenges due to their valuation of Hojland, who scored 10 goals in 34 games last season. In light of this, United is exploring other potential options to bolster their attacking options.
Additionally, United is open to offers for Anthony Martial, although they are yet to receive any official approaches for the French forward. Martial, who scored nine goals last season, has one year remaining on his contract but has struggled with injuries.
