Marcus Rashford of Man United Will Be Out for Weeks Due to a Muscular Problem
Posted : 18 April 2023
After sustaining a groin injury during the 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday, the Manchester United attacker, who has scored 28 goals this season, will miss Thursday's first leg of the Europa League quarterfinal against Sevilla.
Rashford would return "for the season run-in," the team claimed in a statement on Wednesday morning. Speaking at a press conference later that day, Ten Hag said he was unable to provide a more precise timeline for Rashford's comeback.
"A few games so that is the statement," said Ten Hag, who added that Luke Shaw will also be absent against Sevilla.
"I can't give more details because we don't know we have to see how the injury develops."
With four games in 11 days starting with Sevilla's visit to Old Trafford, United is approaching a key part of the season.
Ten Hag's group takes on Nottingham Forest on Sunday, then travels to Spain for the second leg against Sevilla before taking on Brighton in an FA Cup semifinal on April 23 at Wembley.
