Manchester United and Chelsea will face off at Old Trafford stadium in Manchester, England by 8pm on Thursday.
What will Manchester United do different?
Although they are two of the most successful teams in English football, Manchester United and Chelsea had radically contrasting seasons in 2022–2023.
Compared to the mayhem they caused last season, United has been in resurgent form under the management of their new manager, Eric Ten-Hag, who has probably delivered much beyond expectation with the winning mindset last seen during the Sir Alex Ferguson Era.
Currently fourth in the standings and must earn at least one more point from a possible six to guarantee their return to the Champions League, with Liverpool just behind them, Manchester United appears to have finally discovered a distinct style of play.
This season, United has played more games than any other team in Europe. I hoped fitness wouldn't be a big issue for their performance.

Chelsea’s bleak fate
Chelsea, meanwhile, has perhaps had the worst season in recent memory. They are no longer in contention for a top-four finish as they now hold the 12th spot on the standings.
Under new ownership, which has already spent more than $600 million USD on signings, the team has had three different managers this season and Mauricio Pochettino is scheduled to take over the reins from Frank Lampard at the end of the campaign.
The scenario for Chelsea is rather grim. The United team has a lot of elite athletes, such as Casimero, Bruno Fernandes, and Rashford. This season, they have also been highly effective at home (8 wins, 3 draws, and 1 defeat), transforming Old Trafford into a fortress that no rival would dare to enter.
Lampard’s hope for his squad
Chelsea is a team that, in its heyday, was capable of inflicting harm on any team in the world, but with their bad luck this year and the presence of several elite players in their roster, it is doubtful that they can even harm a fly.
However, Lampard is certain that Chelsea has the appropriate mechanisms in place.
"When you look at the good models around that have consistency in those areas and decision-making and how the club moves forward, they're generally more successful clubs," Lampard said.
"Where we are at the minute, that will be the work process to try and see where are we aligned, where do we want to get to and what does it look like."
