Manchester United to decide on Mason Greenwood's future before start of Premier League season

Manchester United will make a decision on striker Mason Greenwood's future before their Premier League opening game against Wolves on 14 August.
 
Earlier, serious charges against Greenwood, including attempted rape and assault, were dropped on 2 February after key witnesses withdrew and new evidence emerged, leading to a lack of realistic prospects for conviction.
 
While a statement released on behalf of the 21-year-old Greenwood expressed relief at the time, Manchester United initiated its own investigation. Since then, Greenwood has been unavailable for selection and hasn't participated in training at the club's Carrington training ground. His contract with United is set to run until June 2025.
 
During the current tour of the United States, manager Erik ten Hag stated that he had shared his opinions on the matter but that the final decision rests with others at the club.
 
It is now understood that the evaluation process is approaching its end, and an announcement regarding Greenwood's future is expected to be made before the Wolves game.
