Manchester United coach Eric ten Hag is reportedly facing an imminent departure this summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, a senior Italian journalist from "Sky" Italy. Even a potential victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday at Wembley is unlikely to alter this decision, marking ten Hag's final match in charge of the team.
Ten Hag joined Manchester United in the summer of 2022 from Ajax, securing the League Cup title in his debut season and guiding the team to a third-place finish in the league, earning them a return to the Champions League. However, the current season has been marked by disappointment, with United languishing in eighth place and posting a negative goal difference of minus 1, their worst figures in the Premier League era.
Di Marzio lists three potential candidates to replace ten Hag: Kieran McKenna, who notably led Ipswich to promotion to the Premier League and was named Championship manager of the season, Roberto de Zerbi, recently departed from Brighton, and Mauricio Pochettino, who was dismissed by Chelsea. McKenna, a former coach of United's youth team and part of the senior coaching staff, is also reportedly in contention at Brighton and Chelsea.
