Manchester United seek striker Rasmus Höjlund, offers €50 million

Manchester United is growing increasingly confident in their pursuit of a striker before the Premier League season begins. Talks with Atalanta over a deal for Rasmus Höjlund have started to gain momentum, with United offering €50 million ($56m) for the player. Although there is still a valuation gap between the clubs, Atalanta seems open to reaching a compromise.
In addition to Höjlund, Manchester United is in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt regarding Randal Kolo Muani and with Ajax about Mohammed Kudus to secure a forward before their season opener against Wolves on August 14th.
Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has expressed the club's commitment to signing a striker, working tirelessly to make it happen. However, there is a realization within the recruitment department that signing the 20-year-old Höjlund might be a gamble due to his young age and lack of experience at the highest level. He has not yet played 100 senior games and scored nine goals in 32 games last season in Serie A.
As a solution, manager Erik ten Hag is considering using Marcus Rashford as a center forward next season. While Rashford has been most effective on the left wing, Ten Hag understands that he may need to play through the middle more often to accommodate Höjlund's integration into the team.
During preseason matches, Rashford started as the No. 9 against Real Madrid in Houston, while Jadon Sancho played in that role against Arsenal in New Jersey.
United is also considering retaining Anthony Martial as an experienced option at center forward, though he is currently recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the end of last season and has not yet featured in preseason games.
