Manchester United negotiating with Napoli for Victor Osimhen transfer

Manchester United, under the management of Ruben Amorim, has initiated discussions with Napoli regarding a potential move for Victor Osimhen. Amorim is eager to strengthen his attacking options, and the Nigerian striker is seen as an ideal candidate to fit into his tactical system and broader team ambitions.

Osimhen has been a standout performer for Napoli, particularly in their recent Serie A title triumph, which ended a 30-year wait for the club. However, by the end of last season, tensions between Osimhen and the club had risen significantly. The forward sought a permanent exit but ultimately found himself on loan at Galatasaray for the 2024/25 season, where he has continued to impress, contributing to 34 goals in just 32 appearances.

His performances in Turkey have only heightened interest in securing his services, and although Osimhen is expected to return to Napoli this summer, it is believed that he will be leaving the club. Napoli and Osimhen had previously agreed on a fee of €70 million before his loan to Galatasaray, and that is the figure that will likely be used in negotiations this summer.

Manchester United is one of the clubs keen on signing Osimhen, with Amorim determined to upgrade his forward line. His current strikers have not met expectations, and Amorim believes Osimhen’s proven goal-scoring ability would be a perfect fit for United's attack in the upcoming season.

Osimhen has expressed a preference for a move to the Premier League, making United a prime contender for his signature. The club has already made contact with Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, to discuss the details of a potential summer transfer.

To sweeten the deal, Manchester United might offer Rasmus Hojlund as part of the transfer package. The young Danish striker could provide Napoli with an exciting prospect for their attack, and his prior Serie A experience makes him an attractive option. United’s strong relationship with Manna, forged through successful negotiations involving Scott McTominay and Alejandro Garnacho, could play a crucial role in securing the transfer of Osimhen.

Despite Manchester United's interest, they will face stiff competition for Osimhen, as other top clubs are also in pursuit. The 26-year-old’s future remains uncertain, but with multiple clubs vying for his signature, securing his move to Manchester United will not be an easy task.
